Can anyone please tell me how non-commercial uses would be defined for the use of RSS feeds on my website? Basically, I want to use some news rss feeds from Yahoo on my website. I do not sell anything on my website except for advertising space. I wrote to Yahoo to ask for permission and they wrote me back with their general "can be used for non-commercial uses etc." I wrote back and asked them specifically about the use their rss feed on my site and how they define "non-commercial" use. Yahoo responded to me saying that they can not define non-commercial use for me because of legal issues and that the use of their RSS feeds on my site is my call. They did not say no, but they did not say yes.
I also formally asked Google at their Permissions Department by filling out the specified form and faxing it and Google never responded.
I display other RSS feeds on my site that I have specific permissions to use.
So, can I use Yahoo News RSS or not? It does say that the feeds can be used on blogs and many blogs have advertisements.
I would really appreciate some opinions on this.
